Football Game Preview: Sterling Black Bears vs. Smith Center Redmen + Official Tickets

The Sterling Black Bears will face off against the Smith Center Redmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after 11 games, but that won't be the case come Friday.

Sterling is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Trinity 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Bears have posted since September 20, 2024.

Sterling relied on the efforts of Logan Isaac, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Wyatt Newberry, who rushed for 120 yards and one TD on only seven carries. What's more, Isaac racked up 43 passing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Smith Center beat Moundridge 22-14 on Friday.

Smith Center's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Sterling, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-0.
