Baseball Game Preview: Brazos Cougars vs. Logos Prep Academy Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Brazos Cougars face off against Logos Prep Academy Lions at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brazos will be strutting in after a victory while Logos Prep Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Brazos not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th. They blew past Giddings 10-4.

The team relied heavily on Luke Polasek, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Brazos is 2-1 when Polasek posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Brayden Krahn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Brazos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Logos Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against St. Francis Episcopal, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Logos Prep Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Tibbetts, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Tibbetts hit this season.

Logos Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Brazos, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Brazos took their victory against Logos Prep Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5. Will Brazos repeat their success, or does Logos Prep Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
