Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Falls Short Against Ranked Woodmont + How To Watch

Hillcrest faced Woodmont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rams came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-10, 25-14.

When it comes to explaining why Hillcrest lost, don't look at Addison Nelson. Despite the final result, she had 12 assists and ten digs. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Lauren Smith went supernova For Woodmont., getting 15 digs and five aces. That's the most digs Smith has posted over her last 11 matches.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Woodmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-5 record this season.

Hillcrest will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
