Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Wildcats vs. Cape Hatteras Hurricanes

Columbia and Cape Hatteras are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Columbia Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Columbia came up into this matchup off a tough 25-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Hobgood Charter by a score of 53-51 on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Cape Hatteras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 53-37 bruising from Mattamuskeet.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cape Hatteras, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Columbia against Cape Hatteras in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-48 victory. Does Columbia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cape Hatteras turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
