Softball Recap: Lockwood Takes Down Ranked Polson

Lockwood faced Polson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The LIONS never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the LIONS, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Fraker Fox was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Marley Chiasson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Lockwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Polson only posted an OBP of .150.

Lockwood pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Polson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Lockwood will head out to challenge Havre at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
