Basketball Recap: Knowledge Academies Piles Up the Points Against KIPP Global

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Knowledge Academies). They breezed past the KIPP Global Huskies to the tune of 81-43 on Friday. With Knowledge Academies ahead 55-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Knowledge Academies had a senior duo take command as Travis Campbell posted 17 points along with eight boards and five steals and Jameson Amos went 8-for-14 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Amos has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Amos, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 14 points.

KIPP Global's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremiah Knox and Jadon Cousin. Knox earned 20 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Cousin went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points. Cousin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Knowledge Academies now has a winning record of 3-2. As for KIPP Global, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knowledge Academies will face off against Stem Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Knowledge Academies has three straight victories, Stem Preparatory Academy has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for KIPP Global, they will challenge Valor College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
