Baseball Recap: Foothill Tech Comes Up Short

Foothill Tech managed to slip by Oxnard the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Dragons came up short against the Yellowjackets on Thursday, falling 12-3. Dragons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Yellowjackets since Thursday.

Jacory Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Marcus Aragon also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Foothill Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Oxnard, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Foothill Tech will challenge Redondo Union at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oxnard, they will head out to take on Oak Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
