Baseball Recap: St. Edward Takes a Loss

St. Edward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 9-2 to the Chicago Christian Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Wave of the 8-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

St. Edward saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Lombardo, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Chicago Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

St. Edward wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-1 defeat against Bishop McNamara on the 20th. As for Chicago Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-3 victory against Marian Central Catholic on the 20th.
