Volleyball Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Takes a Loss + How To Watch

St. Petersburg Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Keswick Christian Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Barons of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

St. Petersburg Catholic started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-11, 25-13, 26-24.

Joseline Rooney paced St. Petersburg Catholic's offense, picking up ten kills. Rooney got some help from Abigail Parker and her 22 assists. Rooney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

St. Petersburg Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Keswick Christian, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

St. Petersburg Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Clearwater Central Catholic on the 14th. As for Keswick Christian, they will welcome The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
