Basketball Recap: Mountain Island Charter Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Mountain Island Charter gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the East Gaston Warriors 57-18.

Mountain Island Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Brown, who posted 11 points and five assists. Those 11 points gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Cook, who earned nine points.

East Gaston is on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mountain Island Charter is headed away from home for the first time to take on North Hills Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Gaston, they will challenge Chase at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
