Baseball Game Preview: Brazos Cougars vs. Boling Bulldogs

Brazos hasn't had much luck against Boling recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Brazos Cougars will face off against the Boling Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. This will be Brazos' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Brazos fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Calhoun on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Sandcrabs, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since May 4, 2024.

Brazos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Polasek, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Boling beat Palacios 5-1 on Saturday.

Brayden Macek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

Brazos' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Boling, their record now sits at 7-8.

Brazos couldn't quite finish off Boling in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Brazos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
