Volleyball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Woodmont Wildcats

The Hillcrest Rams will square off against the Woodmont Wildcats on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hillcrest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They skirted past Catawba Ridge 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Hillcrest took Catawba Ridge into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Woodmont made easy work of T.L. Hanna on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Woodmont's got stronger as the match went on, holding T.L. Hanna to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-10.

Woodmont's win bumped their record up to 32-5. As for Hillcrest, their victory bumped their record up to 22-8.

Hillcrest suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Woodmont in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' Lauren Smith, who had 15 digs and five aces.
