Cathedral Catholic remains on top after strong Nike TOC showing.

Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) lost one match over the weekend at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix – to eventual champion Marymount (Los Angeles).

The Dons (23-4) blitzed through pool play before falling 22-25, 15-25 in bracketing play. They then proceeded to slice through Xavier College Prep (Phoenix), Desert Vista (Phoenix) and Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) to win the Gold bracket.

The Dons' four losses on the season all are to Top 25 teams — two to Torrey Pines and one each to Redondo Union and Marymount.

Speaking of Marymount, the Sailors fell to Corona del Sol in pool play before righting the ship and earning wins over the Dons, North Raleigh Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.), Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and No. 3 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in the finals to earn back-to-back Nike TOC titles.

As a result of the TOC win, the Sailors jump nine spots to No. 4.

Other movers this week include Marist (Chicago) jumping back into the Top 25 after winning the Asics Challenge. North Raleigh entered the Top 25 this week after the Trojans took fifth place in the Nike TOC Platinum bracket.
