Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Monroe Jets vs. Ansonia Tigers

The Franklin Monroe Jets will head out on the road to take on the Ansonia Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Meanwhile, Ansonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 849th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 186th).

Franklin Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Ansonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.

Franklin Monroe strolled past Ansonia in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 44-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Monroe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
