Basketball Recap: Yuma Drops Highest Score of Season Against Frontier Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yuma). They blew past the Frontier Academy Wolverines 85-64 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Outlaws as they're now sitting on six straight.

Leading Yuma to victory were Brody Sheffield and Jonathan Thomson. Sheffield posted 32 points along with eight boards and six assists, while Thomson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Sheffield is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alex Pensado, who had seven points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Yuma smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Yuma pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Frontier Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Coincidentally, Yuma and Frontier Academy will both be playing Wray the next time they take the court. Yuma will host Wray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Frontier Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
