Porter has gone 9-1 against Splendora recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Porter Spartans will take on the Splendora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Porter turned things around against Rockdale on Friday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 55-35 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Spartans have posted since December 7th.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Splendora duked it out withBuna on Saturday. Splendora came out on top against Buna by a score of 57-48. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 554th, while the Cougars are ranked 1254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Splendora has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Porter, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13.

Everything came up roses for Porter against Splendora in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, as the team secured a 66-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Porter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
