Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Bears vs. Anderson Titans

The Roosevelt Bears will challenge the Anderson Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Roosevelt is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Melvindale with a sharp 13-4 win on Saturday.

Carson Haley made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Roosevelt got a big performance out of Connor Bedo, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Bedo a new career-high. Peyton Webster was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Roosevelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Anderson fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Woodhaven on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3. The Titans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Anderson's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season.
