Volleyball Recap: Greenville Comes Up Short

Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sparta Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 15-14-1. As for Sparta, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Sparta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Coopersville on the 18th. Hopefully Greenville paid attention to the Spartans' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Spartans at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
