Football Game Preview: Archie Whirlwinds vs. Liberal Bulldogs + How To Watch

Archie is a perfect 5-0 against Liberal since August of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Whirlwinds will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Archie's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Two weeks ago, Archie was fully in charge, breezing past Jasper 75-14. The win continues a trend for the Whirlwinds in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Liberal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Rich Hill, posting a 52-14 victory.

Archie better keep an eye on Elam Beaman. He was instrumental in Liberal's win, rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 135 yards and three TDs on only 11 passes. The dominant performance also gave Beaman a new career-high in passer rating (145.8). Another player making a difference was Cody Suschnick, who picked up 116 receiving yards and three scores.

Liberal was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Liberal didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Suschnick and Aaron Stanfield. Suschnick also hauled in three receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Liberal is 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

The win got Liberal back to even at 4-4. As for Archie, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Archie against Liberal when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-20 win. In that game, the Whirlwinds amassed a halftime lead of 48-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
