Corona del Sol is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Highland 3-0.

Meanwhile, Hamilton faced Pinnacle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 3-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Hamilton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-23.

Corona del Sol better keep an eye on Whitney Pierzga. She was instrumental in Hamilton's win, getting 12 assists and two aces. That's the most assists Pierzga has posted since back in September.

Corona del Sol's victory bumped their record up to 33-6. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 28-10.

Corona del Sol skirted past Hamilton 3-2 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aztecs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
