Volleyball Recap: Alpaugh Comes Up Short

Alpaugh lost against Legacy Christian Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Buffalos took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Buffalos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Alpaugh ultimately came up short, they really made Legacy Christian Academy work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Alpaugh saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aydette Ontiveros had 27 digs and five aces. Those 27 digs set a new season-high mark for Ontiveros.

Alpaugh's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Alpaugh will face off against rival Laton at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Kings Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
