Baseball Recap: Miami Beach Finds Home Field Redemption Against Hialeah Gardens

There's no place like home for Miami Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hialeah Gardens Gladiators by a score of 7-3 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Hi-Tides, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Adrian Corniel made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Miami Beach is 2-1 when Corniel allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Corniel was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Pena, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Lenonx Munoz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The win got Miami Beach back to even at 6-6. As for Hialeah Gardens, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miami Beach will welcome ABF Academy Homestead at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hialeah Gardens, they will host Sunset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
