League recap: McEachern tops Kennesaw Mountain to extend winning streak

AAAAAA Region 4 recap October 1, 2013

McEachern added to the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 4 this week by beating Kennesaw Mountain, 41-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Marietta was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. The Blue Devils vanquished Pebblebrook 38-6 earlier in the week.

Marietta's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blue Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brenton Martin has thrown for 619 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Jordan Mathis has 18 catches for 254 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Campbell takes on McEachern. The Spartans are in eighth place, while Kyle Hockman's team is in first place.

Hillgrove took down Campbell 63-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.
