Basketball Game Preview: Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets vs. Veterans Warhawks

Thomas County Central is 0-10 against Veterans since January of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets will take on the Veterans Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Thomas County Central humbled Cairo with a 45-18 victory. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

Thomas County Central found their leader in freshman Chan Dunbar, who posted 16 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Pinkins, who put up ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Veterans beat Bleckley County 69-56 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warhawks.

Thomas County Central's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Veterans, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Thomas County Central came up short against Veterans in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 43-34. Can Thomas County Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
