Softball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North and South pushed the score to 14-5 the last time they played South, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Saxons fell 3-0 to the Spartans. The shutout was out of character for the Saxons seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Isis Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for South, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. North will square off against rival West at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, South is set to face off against their familiar foe El Segundo at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
