If Merritt Island wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rockledge, they should've done a better job of containing Brady Kearns. The Raiders blew past the Mustangs 74-54 on Monday for which the team can thank Kearns, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game.

Another player making a difference was Conlan Oakley, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Rockledge's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Despite the defeat, Merritt Island had strong showings from KHALIL JORDAN, who shot 50% from the field en route to 19 points and six steals, and JEREMY BLACKMON, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. TK KEARSE was another key player, putting up 12 points.

With the victory, Rockledge broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Merritt Island, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Rockledge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-30 win against Cocoa on the 2nd. As for Merritt Island, they have also already played their next game, a 65-22 victory against Edgewood on the 4th.
