Basketball Recap: Dixon Comes Up Short

Dixon lost against South Lenoir last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Dixon lost, don't look at Noah Wright. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-15 to rack up 22 points. Thanks to that strong game, Wright now owns an excellent 45.9% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Liguez, who posted ten points and five boards.

Dixon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for South Lenoir, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Dixon will take on Topsail at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Lenoir, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
