Basketball Game Preview: Wetumpka Indians vs. Marbury Bulldogs

The Wetumpka Indians and the Marbury Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wetumpka is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Percy Julian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 70-50 to the Phoenix. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since January 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Marbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Holtville. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Marbury has suffered against Holtville since January 12, 2021.

Marbury's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-12. As for Wetumpka, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.

Wetumpka strolled past Marbury when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 67-51. Will Wetumpka repeat their success, or does Marbury have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
