Recap: Lower Moreland Lions vs. William Tennent Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Upper Dublin, the Lower Moreland Lions were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They managed a 52-48 win over William Tennent. Given Lower Moreland's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while William Tennent is ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lower Moreland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Santora, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dani Brusha, who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Lower Moreland pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for William Tennent, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lower Moreland will square off against Jenkintown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lower Moreland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for William Tennent, they will head out on the road to challenge Plymouth Whitemarsh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
