Football Recap: Clay County Extends Winning Streak to Four

Clay County proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 41) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Braxton County Eagles, sneaking past 19-17. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Clay County's defense made their presence known, laying out Landon Mays seven times. Leading the way was Jaxon Brown with two sacks. Clay County got some further help from Blake Coleman: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Clay County's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Braxton County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Clay County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 44-12 victory against Roane County on the 14th. Braxton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
