Football Game Preview: Waldwick/Midland Park Warriors vs. New Milford Knights

The Waldwick/Midland Park Warriors will face off against the New Milford Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waldwick/Midland Park is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Saturday, Waldwick/Midland Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Garfield, taking the game 21-14.

Dylan Ferrara had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 203 yards and one TD while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 20 yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Luciano Mayer helped out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Waldwick/Midland Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 218 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Milford). They claimed a resounding 35-7 win over St. Mary. The Knights not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 28, 2024 (when they won 28-0).

Waldwick/Midland Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for New Milford, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.

Waldwick/Midland Park took their victory against New Milford in their previous meeting back in September of 2023 by a conclusive 30-7 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
