Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Harker Heights couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forney Jackrabbits on Friday. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Harker Heights' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Mason, who rushed for 232 yards and one TD. Mason's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards. Another passer making a difference was Hudson Humble, who threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Javian Osborne had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 301 yards and five scores while picking up 15.1 yards per carry for Forney. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Osborne a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Imari Jehiel, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Harker Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Forney, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Harker Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forney, they will face off against Willis at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 902 yards in their previous games.
