In other batting news, Fripp Smoak was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson Academy hadn't done well against Patrick Henry Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots, sneaking past 4-3.
Andrew Jackson Academy's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Brandt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Colleton Prep Academy pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Colleton Prep Academy got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Monday against Andrew Jackson Academy by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
