Volleyball Game Preview: South Eugene Axe vs. South Salem Saxons + How To Watch

The South Eugene Axe will head out on the road to square off against the South Salem Saxons at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Saturday, South Eugene got the win against Westview by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Axe.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Salem had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 3-0 victory.

South Salem walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12, 25-20.

South Eugene better focus on containing Ellenia Setzer and Leah Ioane as the pair were huge in South Salem's win. Setzer had 12 digs and one assist, while Ioane had four digs and two aces.

South Eugene's record is now 22-3. As for South Salem, their record now sits at 30-7-1.

South Eugene came up short against South Salem when the teams last played back in October, falling 2-0. Can the Axe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
