Football Recap: Greer Comes Up Short

Greer and Camden squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Greer had to settle for second. They took a 38-20 bruising from the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 27th).

Camden got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Navier Boykin out in front who rushed for 126 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Boykin a new career-high. Isaiah Smith was another key player, rushing for 93 yards and one score.

Greer is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. As for Camden, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Greer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Camden, they will take on Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 42.8 points per game this season.
