Softball Recap: Peach County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Peach County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Westover Patriots with a sharp 14-1 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the game before.

Yumi Thomas and Addison Dickerson did most of the damage at the plate: Thomas got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Dickerson got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Carroll, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Peach County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Peach County's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Westover, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Peach County will head out to square off against Warner Robins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westover, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Turner County at 10:30 a.m.
