Basketball Recap: The Carmel School Beats Grace Christian School for Their Sixth Straight Victory

The Carmel School had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They strolled past the Grace Christian School Kings with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 66-31 win two weeks ago.

The Carmel School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kedelin Santos, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Santos is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of April Twum-Barimah, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards.

The Carmel School was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian School only five assists.

Loss or not, Grace Christian School got some senior leadership from Kalei Taylor and Claire Tuck. Taylor dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Tuck posted 12 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Tuck a new career-high in rebounds.

The Carmel School's record is now 12-5. As for Grace Christian School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

The Carmel School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-40 win against Denbigh Baptist Christian on the 26th. Grace Christian School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
