Football Game Preview: St. Genevieve Valiants vs. St. Monica Mariners + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Michael Wynn and Bradley Cassier are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. Genevieve Valiants will head out on the road to challenge the St. Monica Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Monica will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: St. Genevieve extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Valiants claimed a resounding 41-8 victory over St. Bernard. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Valiants' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Vikings are ranked 765th).

St. Genevieve's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Damian Rosales, who rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Matthew Gonzalez was another key back, rushing for 102 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Monica). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Franklin 55-21. The Mariners pushed the score to 41-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had little chance of recovering from.

St. Genevieve's record is now 8-1. As for St. Monica, their record now sits at an identical 8-1.

St. Genevieve beat St. Monica 35-28 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Valiants since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
