Silsbee has gone a perfect 3-0 against Shepherd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tigers will head out to square off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Shepherd took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Silsbee, who comes in off a win.
Silsbee barely beat Jasper the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 49-14 on Friday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jacaleb Johnson, who rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 83 yards and one TD. Silsbee is undefeated when Johnson posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Corde Wilson was another key player, rushing for 135 yards on only 12 carries.
Silsbee didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Jasper to a completion percentage of just 40%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Kerion Robinson, Johnathan Cartwright Ll, and Cedrick Jones, who each logged one passes deflected. Silsbee wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 53.8%.
Silsbee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Julian Brown. Silsbee received some extra help from Brown, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Shepherd played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 37-16 to Hamshire-Fannett. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost four in a row.
Silsbee will have to contain Landen Dellinger as he made an impact in Shepherd's last game. He rushed for 100 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 118 yards on only nine passes. Dellinger's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.
Silsbee pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.9 points on average over those games. As for Shepherd, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Johnson and Dellinger. Johnson just won't slow down this season and has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 108.9 passing yards per game. Dellinger has been a dominant force too and has averaged 32.7 passing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Silsbee against Shepherd when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-20 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Pirates' Preston Stephens, who rushed for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards.
