Volleyball Recap: Connersville Comes Up Short

Connersville was the 3-0 winner over Muncie Central when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Bearcats on Tuesday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-16, 21-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Kendyl Bottomley paced Connersville's offense, picking up 16 kills. Bottomley got some help from Keagan Ritter and her 28 assists. Ritter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Leading Muncie Central to victory were Haeley Rollins and Elonna Davis. Rollins had 20 digs, while Davis had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs Rollins has posted since September 2nd.

Connersville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Muncie Central, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Connersville and Muncie Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Spartans will face off against New Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (231 vs. 22). Meanwhile, Muncie Central (ranked 207th) will meet Muncie Burris (ranked 64th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
