Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. Highland Rams

For the second straight game, Brighton will face off against Highland. The Bengals will host the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Brighton's favor as the team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Highland has been banged up by 18 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Brighton got the win against Highland by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Bengals, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brighton got a great performance from Josh Mawhinney as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mawhinney has posted since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Saba, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
