Soccer Game Preview: South Cobb vs. Marietta

South Cobb is 0-3 against Marietta since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The South Cobb Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Marietta Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. South Cobb's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

South Cobb's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Alexander 1-0. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Marietta hadn't done well against Walton recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marietta had just enough and edged out Walton 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Marietta hit Walton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gabriel Mikhail, Kevin Rivera, and Lawson Buresi.

Marietta's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for South Cobb, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

South Cobb came up short against Marietta when the teams last played back in March of 2018, falling 3-1. Can South Cobb avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
