Softball Recap: Hale County Wildcats vs. Holtville Bulldogs

Hale County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 10-5 to the Holtville Bulldogs. Hale County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Holtville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Summer Stephens was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Gray, who went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Hale County's loss dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Holtville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Hale County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-5 win vs. New Hope on the 29th. As for Holtville, they will head out on the road to take on Marbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
