The Stadium Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Tahoma Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Stadium took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Kentwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Conquerors 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since March 20, 2024.
Hayden McCabe was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was London Kim, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Meanwhile, Tahoma entered their tilt with Kentridge on Wednesday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Alexa Ramirez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taryn Jones, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Mia Hammington was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Tahoma lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kentridge didn't launched any home runs.
Tahoma pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Stadium, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stadium hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Tahoma struggles in that department as they've averaged .373. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stadium suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Tahoma in their previous meeting on April 2nd. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
