Volleyball Recap: Olympus Comes Up Short

Olympus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bountiful Redhawks. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Redhawks 25-21 in the first set.

Olympus started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-23.

Elsa Barratt paced Olympus' offense, picking up eight kills. Barratt got some help from Senia Benson and her 14 assists. Benson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Molly Hoon, each putting up four.

McKinely Duryea was nothing short of spectacular for Bountiful: she had 15 digs and eight assists. That's the most digs Duryea has posted over her last eight matchups. Maddie Johnson was another key player, getting ten digs and one assist.

Olympus' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Bountiful, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Olympus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Viewmont on the 21st. As for Bountiful, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Brighton on the 14th.
