Preview: Basha Bears vs. Higley Knights
The Basha Bears are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Higley Knights at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Basha is ranked 21st, while Higley is ranked 43rd).
Last Saturday, Basha had to suffer through a rough 75-37 loss at the hands of O'Connor. Basha has struggled against O'Connor recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Basha's loss came about despite a quality game from Rylie Sword, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaila Quinney, who scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Higley beat Corona del Sol 56-44 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Higley.
Claire Greenwade and Cadence Murdough were among the main playmakers for Higley as the former scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Greenwade's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Maci Kerns was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Their wins bumped Basha to 6-3 and O'Connor to 4-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Basha and Higley are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Basha hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.3 points per game. It's a different story for Higley, though, as they've been averaging only 52.4 per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run up the score up higher Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
Basha took their victory against Higley in their previous meeting back in November by a conclusive 63-43. Will Basha repeat their success, or does Higley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
