Softball Recap: Petersburg Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Petersburg was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 6-2 to the Allegany Campers. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Campers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Petersburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Chew, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Allegany, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Petersburg will head out to face off against Philip Barbour at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colts have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Allegany, they are taking a road trip to take on Mountain Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
