Basketball Recap: Silverdale Academy Takes a Loss

Silverdale Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Columbia Academy Bulldogs. The Seahawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake McGhee, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briggs Hoewischer, who put up 15 points.

It was another big night for Jeremy Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards for Columbia Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of Columbia Academy's points. Harrison Brownlee was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Silverdale Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Columbia Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Silverdale Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 82-54 loss against Battle Ground Academy on the 21st. As for Columbia Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-46 victory against Nolensville on the 21st.
