Basketball Recap: Rockford East Comes Up Short

Rockford East fought the good fight in their overtime game against Belvidere North on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Blue Thunder. The defeat leaves the E-Rabs still looking for their first win of the season.

Several E-Rabs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marquis Goldsmith, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Robinson, who posted 16 points.

Rockford East's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Belvidere North, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rockford East will welcome Belvidere at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Belvidere North, they will take on Boylan Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Thunder will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
