Baseball Recap: Pulaski County Comes Up Short

Pulaski County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Danville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 13-12. The Maroons have struggled against the Admirals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Pulaski County got a massive performance out of Ben Gaskin, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Those three runs gave Gaskin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Hargis, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Gaskin wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pulaski County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pulaski County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Danville, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Pulaski County has already played their next contest (against Southwestern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Danville, they will take on Christian Educational Consortium at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
